June Prayer Items

1. Imagine Edmonds

  1. Negotiations with the Developers – we have narrowed the search to two developers. Now we need to pray that the right deal will be struck.
  2. Thanksgiving for Seed Money – we have received or had promised over half of the money towards the seed money. Thank God for what we have received and pray for Cam as he raises the rest outside of the church.
  3. Investors – it looks now like it is best for us to raise all $9m plus to cover the close of the property on Arcola. Pray for investors and for Cam as he works on raising the money.
  4. RBC site – all developers agree, we should purchase the RBC site. Pray for the Lords timing and price point as we seek to move forward.
  5. Posture – how do we be good hosts and practice hospitality in the neighbourhood? What do we charge for? What do we give away? How do we decide what we will do in the Arts Centre or Community Hub?
  6. The City – the city has been very generous to us, and has encouraged the project. Now it is time to make an application and we would pray that the mayor and city planner would be even more excited by the project ahead.
  7. Community Hub – who should we partner with? Who does God want in that hub?

 

2. Congregations

Edmonds

  1. Thank God for the partnerships with Union Gospel Mission, Burnaby Neighbourhood House, Edmonds School, Willingdon Church and …
  2. Pray for leaders at ETC – Mark and Marion, Wayne and Phoebe, Natalie…
  3. Pray for Shelley as she continues to lead the Outreach Ministry
  4. Pray for Carol Ann and her role in the Society to End Homelessness
  5. Pray for the Board at the Society to End Homelessness and all the efforts they are making to care for those who are without housing.
  6. Healing – for those who are sick in the congregation.
  7. Mission Group Focus – for clear thought and action on Mission Group Focus in the year ahead.
  8. Thanksgiving for many who are taking Live Like That
  9. Summer Camps – for an impact on kids and families through Summer Camps.
  10. For favour in the neighbourhood as we move forward with the development project.

Robson Park

  1. Leaders – For Nicole and Luis, Dan and Joanne, Cam and Shelley, Devon and Svenje.
  2. Mosque – for relationship with the Mosque next door.
  3. Prince Charles School – for impact with the kids in the school and their families.
  4. Shire – for an opportunity for the development of the Shire.
  5. Outreach – for a vision to see many people come to know Jesus.
  6. Health – for those who are sick in the congregation.
  7. Pray for the favour of the neighbourhood as we begin to meet there again soon.

Forest Grove

  1. Craig and Beth, Jonathan and Lisa, Terry and Laura as leaders of the congregation.
  2. School – that we foster a fresh relationship with the elementary school.
  3. 3 New Families who follow Jesus to move in and join us.
  4. 3 New Families who do not know Jesus to come to faith.
  5. The Increase of Shire for the Fall
  6. New Mission Group Focus
  7. Health of Covenant Members

Willoughby

  1. Thanksgiving for the story of Willoughby and for the property
  2. Thanksgiving for new people moving into the neighbourhood.
  3. 3 New Families who follow Jesus to move in and join us.
  4. 3 New Families who do not know Jesus to come to faith.
  5. Health – pray for Kamil with a compromised immune system as we move towards lifting restrictions.
  6. Outreach – pray for a plan of reaching into the neighbourhood and joining God on mission there.
  7. Pray for clarity on any potential partnerships with the future use of the property.

Sauk

  1. For Heizel to join Klement and Xhevi soon
  2. For the borders to open with Greece so Xhevi can go to get her check up
  3. For Bob and Cathy and safe return to Albania. Bob has had a setback
  4. For Vjordis and ministry opportunities in Holland
  5. For KSS – impact on families in the village
  6. For KSS and staffing issues (Melissa is new staff)
  7. For Laura (KSS) – salvation for her family
  8. For Klement – difficult pastoral situations
  9. For Xhevi – some pain, hoping to see doctor in Greece in September if border opens
  10. For people to be vaccinated – low percentages in the country.

West Kelowna

  1. For Heather and the Leadership Team
  2. For health in the core as a number of families struggling with illness
  3. For impact on the families that have youth in the youth programs.
  4. For discernment around relationship to Southside.
  5. For the set up of systems to begin to see “life together” develop.
  6. For unity on the leadership team.
  7. For smooth transition into a Mission Group way of being.

 

3. Extension Ministries

  1. Forge (Canada and Global)
    1. For Cam as he leads Forge Canada and Forge Global
    2. For Cam as he serves the North American Baptists as a Vice President of Missional Initiatives.
    3. For the team as they build The Missional Commons – a group from all over the world who discuss what it means to join God at work in our neighbourhoods.
    4. For the development of the prayer ministry led by Deb Judas
    5. For the impact on a number of churches joining The Neighbourhood Project.
    6. For unity in the team.
  1. Shire
    1. For full registration in September in Forest Grove
    2. Discernment to start in Robson Park in the fall or not
    3. To get back in schools after being out for a full year during Pandemic
    4. For 2 Shire families to join Southside Next year
    5. A number of new families to join Shire in the Fall
    6. To impact kids and families during Music camp this Summer
  1. Linked
    1. Thanks for the money that has been raised.
    2. For Winnie’s family to be able to come to Canada soon.
    3. For the team, and their meeting next week.
    4. For the families we have already sponsored.
    5. For discernment around the Ride for Refuge.

4. TeamUP

    1. Funding. We are in the midst of fundraising in order to make summer plans ( Edmonds) happen, and ongoing needs for operating.  Pray for favour with fundraising initiatives and for the need and response of more people to contribute. 
    2. Charitable status. Our application is being reviewed by govt. we would be so well helped to have this. 
    3. Outreach in Edmonds and Chilliwack partnering with local churches this summer. Pray for open doors. Effective impact and long term relationships to be further developed
    4. Our new partnership in Malawi is starting to show great potential. Local church, involved. Community development projects. The Love of Jesus is being tangibly expressed. Pray for effectiveness of this program. 
    5. Pray for one of our partners in Peru who are suffering greatly from the pandemic. TEAMUp is helping with food and blankets to help with the gap that is desperately needed. 
    6. TEAMUp Challenge. July 24. It is a growing campaign fundraiser to help bring specific hope and help to girls programs in our partnerships. Pray that it will be fruitful and well engaged 
    7. Pray for Sports Club Sauk.  Pray for relationships in the team ; pray for effective impact in the lives of kids and families.
